With studio portraits, you have to create the lightening you want whereas outdoor portraits use natural lightening from the sun. But you can control the lighting more with studio portraits. Studio portraits are more posed, but outdoor portraits are more authentic and natural. Some similarities are that you are able to set up the poses you want and move around until you get the perfect angle or picture. With outdoor portraits, you are able to focus on your surroundings, but in the studio, it is more about the person you are taking a picture of.
